Malaki Gurley powered his way to 230 yards and three touchdowns, including a fourth-quarter score to take the lead, as Prince George took down visiting Clover Hill 28-24 in each team’s season opener. Both teams alternated touchdowns throughout the game. Davod Wilkins led the Cavaliers on the ground, rushing for 194 yards and a touchdown. DaShaun Dabney recorded one carry and one reception, both of which went for touchdowns. Clover Hill held a 24-21 lead in the fourth quarter after Jalil Morris connected with Dabney for a score. With 10:16 remaining, Gurley took a carry 57 yards for his third touchdown of the game. The Royals shut down the Cavaliers the rest of the way for the victory.
