Game Recap

Tuesday’s game against James River was a heartbreaker for Clover Hill, as they lost the lead late in a 2-1 defeat. The game was tied at one with James River batting in the top of the sixth when Swain singled off of David Wallace, driving in one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. James River pitchers struck out six, while Clover Hill sat down three

Clover Hill captured the lead in the first inning when Khie Simms drove in Zach Young.

James River knotted the game up at one in the top of the fifth inning. White doubled on a 0-1 count in the fifth inning, scoring the run.

Petry earned the win for James River. He threw seven innings, surrendering one run, three hits, and striking out six. David Wallace took the loss for Clover Hill. He pitched six innings, allowing two runs, seven hits, and striking out three.

The Cavs will celebrate their senior day on Thursday as they take on L.C. Bird.
