The Clover Hill Baseball team won their home opener against Cosby on Tuesday afternoon 5-3.
The Cavaliers took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Bailey Burcume singled, driving in one run, there was an error, scoring two runs, Bryce Holyfield hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, and Sean Hallinan singled, driving in another insurance run.
David Wallace earned the win for the Cavaliers. He pitched six and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs, seven hits, striking out five, and walking zero. Jakob Burns recorded the last out to earn the save for the Cavaliers. Hart took the loss for Cosby. He tossed three and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs, five hits, striking out three, and walking one.
Holyfield, Hallinan, Cameron Geanas, and Burcume each drove in one run to lead the Cavaliers.
