Cavaliers News · Baseball Drops Two Games on the Week


The Clover Hill Baseball Team fell to James River on Wednesday 4-0 and also to Cosby on Thursday 6-4.

The Cavaliers Battled hard both games, but fell short as their record falls to 5-7 for the season.

On Wednesday against James River, the Cavaliers were held scoreless as the Rapids scattered 4 runs to secure the win.

David Wallace took the loss for Clover Hill. He tossed six innings, surrendering four runs, 11 hits, striking out one, and walking one. Petry earned the win for James River. He threw six innings, surrendering zero runs, six hits, striking out six, and walking one.

Khie Simms was 3-3 in the game reaching base 4 times to lead the Clover Hill offense.

On Thursday against Cosby, despite out-hitting the Titans 12-6, the Cavs surrendered their lead in the 6th inning and fell to Cosby 6-4.

Cole Driscoll started the game for Clover Hill. He tossed five innings, allowing three runs, four hits, and striking out three.

Clover Hill collected 12 hits. Khie Simms, Jakob Burns, and William Toth each collected multiple hits for Clover Hill. Zach Young went 1-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in.  Sean Hallinan and Ryan Spinner also collected RBI’s for the Cavaliers.

Clover Hill Baseball will be back in action next week as they welcome Huguenot (home) on Tuesday, make up a game against Monacan (home) on Wednesday and take on Manchester (away) on Thursday.  All games will start at 4:30.
