Game Recap

The Cavaliers lost a hard fought pitching battle to Manchester on Thursday afternoon. Cole Driscoll and Ryan Bergenhagen were the stars of the show. Both pitchers limited opposing hitters to only 4 hits.

Bergenhagan earned the win for Manchester. He tossed seven innings, giving up one run, four hits, and striking out seven. Driscoll took the loss for Clover Hill. He went six innings, giving up two runs, four hits, and striking out two.

Manchester scored their first run in the third inning with a runner on third with two outs on a balk call. They scored again in the sixth inning on a error.

Clover Hill rallied in the 6th, scoring a run when Jacob Mozingo hit a sacrifice fly to score Jakob Burns who singled up the middle earlier in the inning.

The Cavs fall to 7-8 on the season.

The Cavs are lead by pitchers David wallace (2-3, 3.04 ERA, 41 IP, 14 K) and Cole Driscoll (1-1, .097 ERA, 21.2 IP, 23 K).
The Cavalier Offense is lead by freshman David Coppedge (.475 AVG, .489 OB%, 15 RBI) and senior Khie Simms (.462 AVG, .533 OB%, 6 RBI, 12 R, and 3 Triples).

The Cavs will host Midlothian on Tuesday and Matoaca on Wednesday next week. Both games will start at 4:30.
