Clover Hill High School
An eight-run sixth inning led Clover Hill to a 12-2 victory on Thursday. Clover Hill’s big inning was driven by a single by Bryce Holyfield, a single by Sean Hallinan, a triple by Khie Simms, a walk , a double by Jacob Mozingo, and a double by Ryan Spinner.
Clover Hill captured the lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning David Coppedge drove in one run when he singled.
After L.C. Bird scored one run in the top of the fourth, Clover Hill answered with one of their own. L.C. Bird scored when Kennedy homered off of Ben Lake, driving in one run. Clover Hill then answered when Zach Young hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.
Clover Hill took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Sean Hallinan singled off of Kennedy, driving in one run and Kennedy uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run.
Lake earned the win for Clover Hill. He went six innings, surrendering two runs, five hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Kennedy took the loss for L.C. Bird. He threw four innings, surrendering four runs, four hits, and walking one.
Clover Hill collected ten hits. Hallinan, Mozingo, and Simms each collected multiple hits for Clover Hill. Simms, Mozingo, and Hallinan each managed two hits to lead Clover Hill.
