April Athlete of the Month nominations
Boys Track: Jeremy Turner – as a freshman, he has shown remarkable drive to work and also has improved significantly since the start of the season.
Baseball: Jonah Boarman – Jonah was instrumental in the baseball team finishing out the month of April on a 4 game winning Streak. Through 6 games in the month of April, Jonah was 6 for 16 (.375) with an on base percentage of .474, three doubles and a team leading four RBI’s on the month. Jonah turned it on when we needed him the most in our wins against Cosby and Thomas Dale. Jonah went 3 for 4 with two doubles, drove in two runs, and scored twice in our 9-3 victory over Cosby. Jonah also delivered the game-winning two-RBI-double in the 6th inning helping us defeat Thomas Dale 7-5. On top of leading us to victory against 2 very challenging opponents, Jonah also completed the month of April with a 1.000 fielding percentage(15-15), perfect in all fielding opportunities at second base. Jonah is in his second season on the varsity team and has earned the reputation of being one of the most determined and gritty players in the program.
Girls Lacrosse: Emma Grace Ficara; Emma Grace is a three sport athlete at Clover Hill (varsity field hockey, JV basketball, and varsity lacrosse). She has emerged as a leader on and off of the field this lacrosse season. She is the high scorer for the team thus far this season. She always gives 100% to her team and always maintains a positive attitude on and off the field. Emma Grace is truly deserving of recognition for all of her contributions to the the Clover Hill athletic program.
Girls Track: Lilianna Morris – as a freshman, she has also shown a strong will to work and improve and is already one of our top sprinters.
Softball: Senior Jessica Cornthwaite…had 8 hits in 3 games with 6 RBIs…moved from 8th in batting order to 5th….most improved hitter this year!!!
Girls Tennis: Lilly Ebner; Lilly has only lost 1 singles match the entire season and has given our team a chance to win in some tight matches against very tough opponents. She is 10-1 on the season, and based on her previous season performances, it is likely that she will finish out the rest of the regular season at 3-0. Lilly also participated in cross -country in the fall. It is rare that a foreign-exchange student embraces the school athletic programs, shows school spirit, and represents Clover Hill so well. Lilly is amazing on and off the tennis court and should be recognized!
